On diesel SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) systems, the Bank 1 Sensor 2 NOx sensor is positioned downstream of the SCR catalyst and AdBlue (DEF) injection point. Its primary role is to verify that the SCR catalyst is effectively reducing nitrogen oxides by measuring residual NOx in the post-catalyst exhaust stream, providing closed-loop feedback for DEF dosing control.
