Will this fail an emissions test?
Yes, in almost all cases. The check engine light being on is an automatic fail in most OBD-based inspection programmes, and even with the lamp cleared the EGR readiness monitor will report as not complete until the fault is genuinely fixed.
Is this expensive to fix?
